General SAP Human Resource Questions

1. What do you need to do in the IMG to specify certain info types for certain countries only?

2. Where can you store a passport photo of an employee? Where do you do the settings in the IMG?

In general:

Transaction code: SM31

Table T588J

IMG: Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Customizing User Interfaces -> Change Screen Header

If you’re following the IMG path, you must now choose activity ‘Infotype Header Definition’

Note, Header structure per infotype and Header modifier activities describe which header is to be shown at the top of each infotype. The enticing ‘Passport photo’ option determines whether HRICOLFOTO or HRIEMPFOTO is used. Choosing either option is fine as long as all your other settings relate to that entry as well.

For example, the picture has been placed in header modifier ‘91’, which corresponds to screen header ‘91’, which is linked to Infotype 0002. You can choose to display.

All you need to do is add an entry for PERNR with Filed Type ‘PIC’. Column 75 puts the picture on the right hand side. The IT column is used to decide where to take the ‘Field Name’ value from. For PERNR, all infotypes have this field.

Don’t forget to GENERATE the screen header again.

When you see the resultant Infotype display you can double click on the picture will bring up a ‘large’ version of it.

3. What is TCLAS = A and TCLAS = B?

In TCLAS,

A, B, T will be there.

A - Master data and time data.
B - Applicant data.
T - Shift Schedule.

So, here we can say the default value will be integrated according to the above ABT.

Means in the feature ABKRS, if you give the default values for all the three, your payroll area will appear in Master Data and Time data. And in recruitment (Applicant data) and work schedules. Means you are getting integrated to all the three.

And you can observe the feature PINCH also.

If you don’t want to get integrate with Master data, then don't give the default value under the A - Master date and Time data. And if you want to get integrate with Recruitment, then give the default value under B.

4. Where can you change the attributes of individual screens?

5. What are infotype menus or info menus? Are they user group dependable?

If you want to store the employees information about the following infotypes in Employee Master Data:

1. Organization Assignment.
2. Personal Data
3. Address
4. Basic Pay
5. Bank Details.
6. Section 80c deductions.
7. Payroll Status etc.

Then you have to make the infotype menu with the above mentioned infotypes only.

Infotype Menu Are Not User Group Dependable

There are a lot of infotype menus and infogroups in SAP system, including the SAP standards.

By using user groups, you display only the ones that are relevant for the HR user.

It is some kind of a method to restrict the PA40 and PA30 display based on the user requirements and hide any unnecessary nodes.

You can use any user group you want as long as you assign it to users via SU3 - parameters - UGR

6. What setting do I need to make for a SAP user to see that he has the relevant infotype menus?

7. Where do I assign the IG (infogroup) to the personnel action type? Are infogroups user group dependable?

8. What is IGMOD?

IGMOD is a feature. The SAP description of the feature is:

IGMOD Infogroup Modifier

Object Feature Task Grouping combinations of control features in an event using a modifier. Use Table - Infotype groups - T588D Infotype - Events - (I0000) Procedure In table T5299, the nameup is, in turn, defined in table T588D in conjunction with the control features: company code, personnel area, employee group, employee subgroup. The return code of the feature is a modifier which reads table T588A.

9. For a country reassignment action what setting do I need to do in the IMG?

Country reassignment action configuration involves:

1. Checking "country reassignment" indicator in table T529A. This is the far right column in that table.
2. Setting switch PLOGI EVENB to 'X' if cross company code transfer is involved. This is table T77S0.
3. Features are not needed.

10. What are additional actions? What are the ways in which I can activate additional actions for an employee? Where are additional actions stored? Can we see the infotype record where additional actions are stored directly?

SAP help emphasizes that actions that act as only data entry should not be recorded as actions.

E.g. you can create an action to record some additional data of employee consisting of more than one infotype at one shot in order to make sure that none of the infotypes are ignored. This type of actions may only be recorded in IT0302.

However, change in pay, organizational change, etc. are such actions that are important for the employees work history in the company although they don't alter employment status.

You should determine this type of personnel actions that are of importance for employees work history in the company and make these actions be recorded in IT0000 even if they don't cause any status change.
