Consumption Value Material Master Additional Tab

Explain consumption value in material master Additional data tab.

I need to know, how total consumption values are getting updated in Consumption tab under Additional data tab in MM03. How values are getting calculated and what are the movement types are including in those field.

Also, I need to upload some old consumption value in Additional data-Consumption tab. Will I be able to do it by LSMW? I know, how to write LSMW, I need to know what program to use. Is there any other tools that I can use to upload those data.

Answers:

Consumptions values are updated in MM03 additional data based on movement type update control in OMJJ. The below are the options available

Blank - No consumption update
G     - Planned withdrawal (total consumption)
    - Planned, if ref. to reservation, otherwise unplanned
U     - Unplanned withdrawal (unplanned consumption)

It is updated in material master additional data always with period indicator available in MRP-3 view. If you change it will become zero. Then it will allow you to enter in MM02. If you don't change period indicator, it will allow you to update in MM02.

These values with period indicator in S031 table. Without period indicator it will update in S033. In S033 you will get it date wise records of consumption.

If you change your period indicator in MRP-3 view, consumption data in additional data becomes zero.

So you need to use LSMW or BDC which can get values from S033 and upload in additional data of material master with the new period entered in MRP-3 view. In case if you bring your old period indicator back to MRP-3 view then old data will come back to consumption data of material master.

Note: If you are using MRP Area - you need to check the consumption value at the MRP area in MRP 1 View.
