Defect Type Master In QM

How to create defects for result recording?

You could set the defect code master data in QS41 where Catalog code is 9.

If you want to get display the defect code automatically for the MIC, during defect recording, you can assign the defect code to MIC in QS23 under "Defect code for rejection" in catalog.

Also make sure "Defect recording" should be checked under the control indicators.

Adding to the above,

1) Create an MIC in QS21 with selection defect recording in the control indicator.

2) In catalogs select Defect codes for Rejection.

What this means is if an inspection characteristic is rejected during results recording, the function for recording defects for a characteristic is automatically called up. Defects recording in the background is done if you define defect codes in the inspection characteristic.

You can specify three defect codes for a quantitative characteristic:

1) A defect code for a general rejection,

2) A defect code for a rejection at an upper specification limit,

3) A defect code for a rejection at a lower specification limit.

Configuration:

1. Defects is a SPRO setting which is very well managed by QS41.

2. Go to catalog 9

3. Create New Code group-->status release

4. Select code group-->click on code-->enter new code-->maintain defect class-->save

Issues to take note:

QS41 Entries are not displayed after support pack upgrade

Recently our Basis team have upgraded the support pack in DEV client, While testing I found that in QS41 if I am open any catalog, for any entry codes are not visible.  But if open this catalogs in notification they are fetching.

For version was ECC 6.0 :

I have also had the same issue in my earlier implementation. Please look into the oss note no 1078292.
