Getting Rid of Under Performing Issues

This past week I did some buying and selling.  I got rid of some under-performing issues and used the proceeds to add to some of the stronger stocks that were looking good.

Now I have more of the good and less of the bad and none of the ugly.  When I cut a position from the portfolio, I have my own rule: "don't look back."  Still, sometimes, I kick myself for getting out with a loss.

Usually I do get to feel better, as if I have rid myself of some annoying headache.  This is my own strategy, which I've develpoed when I just couldn't stand looking at those losers duds anymore.  Now they're gone and I can start fresh like starting a new career or a new book.

I didn't really care about the sale price I got; I just wanted to be out.  Honestly, it doesn't matter to me that I got 25 cents less than the closing price; at least it wasn't at the low of the day.  I hate it when I get a bad order fill, though, but I found that I get good order fills too, and they usually balance themselves out. That's the way the game is played, I accept that and I still love it.

Now I'm ready for the Market to resume it's rally; I have cleaned up the portfolio, and my sideline cash is burning a hole in my pocket.  I think this Market has great potential and opportunites.
