Leave Entitlement And Absence Quota Differences

Annual Leave Entitlement

We have requirement of changing the base entitlement of Annual Leave Quota. Currently every year employee is eligible for 34 days of annual leave. But the employee can avail this leave only after one year of service in first year of join. After one year of service s/he should be getting 34 days of leave along the present year accrual.

Now Company leave policy has changed and now new base entitlement is revised to 30 days instead of 34 days with effect from 01.01.2010.

So, shall I go to SM30 give V_t559L and change the base entitlement to 30 with validity period 01012010.

Solution:

Create another record under set base entitlement from 01.01.2010 and give entitlement constant as 30 instead of 34. So system automatically will delimit previous date as <your starting date > to 31.12.2009 with 34 days.

Also create another record which starts from 01.01.2010 in V_T559E

Path:-

SPRO> Time Management > Time Data Recording & Administration > Managing Time Accounts using Attendance / Absence Quotas in Time Evaluation > Calculating Absence Entitlements > Rules for Generating Absence Quotas > Set Base Entitlements.

Difference between leave entitlement and absence quota

In PA, there are infotypes called: Leave Entitlement and Absence Quota. I would like to know the difference of them.

For example, if an employee entitled 30 days annual leave. I can use Leave Entitlement, define a leave type 'Annual Leave' and assign 30 days. Or I can use Absence Quota to define an absence type 'Annual Leave' too. Am I correct?

If so, what should be my consideration to use Leave Entitlement or Absence Quota.

Answer:

Leave Entitlements and Absence Quotas are same , but now a days leave entitlements infotype is not used and even its not active after ECC 5.0 Version.

So try to understand the fundamental of Absence Quotas don’t bother about this Leave Entitlements, Still if you want know about Leave Entitlements then for cretin Quota we need to run some standard quota for I not sure its correct or wrong check out this report rptconleav.

You can maintain an employee’s leave entitlement in infotype 0005.

Note: The new functions available for automatic quota accrual in the Absence Quotas infotype (2006) constitute a considerably more efficient tool for accruing and administrating absence entitlements.

The Leave Entitlement infotype can be used to store information on an employee’s leave entitlement over a certain period of time as stipulated in the work contract, and any entitlement the employee may have to relocation leave, leave for education and training, and so on.

Infotype 0005 also provides information on an employee’s remaining leave.

Absence quota is what you currently have in your account and you can use it any time as per company policies and entitlement is something that you earn by attending your duty and that earning is stored somewhere and allotted next year.

For example:

In most of the companies an employee is entitled to accumulate 1 privilege leave in his quota if he works for 11 days and he can use that quota after 1 year.

in this way PL entitlement is accumulated per 11 days and accrued in the existing quota balance in the beginning of the new year (accrual period may differ for various companies)
