Difference Between The MM And WM Flows

What are the difference between the MM flows with WM flows?

As different companies flow and requirement are not the same, some of the transaction posting might be skip.  Generally, it will flow through the following stated tcodes.

The MM flow as follow:

1. ME51 - Create Purchase Requisition
2. ME41 - Create RFQ
3. ME47 - Maintain Quotation
4. ME49 - Price Comparison List
5. ME21N - Create Purchase Order and ME9F (Message Output - for PO)
6. MIGO - Goods Receipt, Return Delivery, Cancellation, Display,
7. MIGO (MB1A and MB1B) - Goods Issue, Transfer Posting
8. MIRO - Enter Incoming Invoice

The WM flow as follow:

1. Creation of storage Bin

  • LS01N - Manually
  • LS10 - Automatically
2. Creation of storage type

3. Creation of Warehouse Number

Which involves control of

a. Material at different level

b. Manage several different types of storage, such as high rack storage, block storage or fixed bin storage

c. Process all relevant postings and transactions such as goods receipts, goods issues and general stock transfers.

  • LT02 - Create Transfer Order for Delivery
  • LT12 - Confirm Transfer Order
d. Monitor stock movements.

   LS24 - Bin Stock per Material

e. Execute stock placements and removals using different put-away and picking strategies.

f. Process stock differences.

g. Manage hazardous materials.

  • LX06 - Fire Department Inventory List
  • LX07 - Check Goods Storage
  • LX08 - Hazardous Substance List
h. Interface to external non-SAP warehousing systems

i. Manage inventory at the storage bin level

   LX03 - Bin Status Report

Notes

It primarily aims at defining and managing complex warehouse structures within a company and integrate with materials management, product planning, quality management and sales and distribution.
